Ice Skating

Kyler and Ellie got to go ice skating for the first time a few weeks ago. We went with the Prinas and the Johnsons on Kristins Birthday. John couldn't come because he was working :( but we had a great time

These two are so cute together and love each other a lot. They become best friends instantly every time we get to see the Johnsons

Kyler complained a lot when we first started. He said he was cold. then tired. then he fell and got hurt. But pretty soon, someone gave us this walker thing and he loved it the rest of the time. This was a trick he kept doing. He said it's the one leg skate:) He kept telling me things like " Mom, I want to come back here 80 times" and "I want to practice skating a lot"

Yeah I know I look really good. not. But look at Ellie she is SOOOO cute! I can't get over their tiny skates!

Uncle Rob is always SO good with all the kids. He loves them a lot. He was a lot of help ice skating and I am thankful for him. One day he will be a great dad :)

You know those times when it's just too quiet and you haven't seen or heard your kids in a like 15 or 20 min? You go looking for them just waiting to find a mess...
Well sometimes my kids surprise me and are actually just being really good and entertaining themselves. It actually happens a lot lately and the 2 most common sources of entertainment are Legos and forts. Kyler loves to try to build forts.

The other day this was what I found Ellie doing. She found my gift labels. I'll usually find her "reading" (just flipping through all her books)

Kyler is so creative with his Legos. he builds really cool things and plays make believe with them so cute :)

Lighting of the Riverwoods

We went to the lighting of riverwoods on Friday and it was beautiful but SO CROWDED! We are planning to go back soon and hopefully we will actually be able to walk around. When we first got there, we went straight to Blickenstaffs, our favorite toy store! That place is so entertaining. By the time we left the store it was so packed we could barely get out. Then we got cookies, looked around and saw SANTA!

The next thing we know, Kyler is inside the house! Then John tells him to go give Santa a hug really quick but by luck of perfect timing, Santa was just putting a little girl down at the exact time that Kyler ran up to him and he just scooped Kyler up on his lap and asked him what he wanted for christmas and asked him if he has been being a good boy this year (Kyler told me what they talked about after) We were hiding behind the house laughing so hard and of course I took some pictures. I really did feel bad because some of those people had been waiting there for a few hours. oops.

*guess what Kyler asked Santa for for Christmas? "A toy mountain. With a guy to hike up it." Hahaha. Santa was probably so confused. What does that even mean?!

He has been telling us this is what he really wants for almost a month now and he hasn't changed it. In case you have never looked for a toy mountain before, they don't sell them. The closest thing we could find was in a lego set but it was lame and not what he described to us. One of Santas elfs are working on building a big one out of our legos. ;)

*When Santa showed up and we were all watching him, I went over to Ellie and said "Ellie, it's Santa! Did you see him?" she turned around and yelled "NO!" and was literally shaking she was so scared. hahaha I do not understand her sometimes. She gets so scared of certain people. The third picture from the bottom was taken right before. It doesn't even look like she is scared

Most of the time, these two get along so well. Ellie has gotten a lot better with hurting Kyler. She still scratches chunks out of his face every once in a while and it is the sadest thing! Poor Kyler! Lately, they play together so well and come up with the funniest games and activities. Kyler has a great imagination and Ellie likes to tag along in all his make-believe games. I hear them playing, "book of mormon," "house," "halloween," "cooking," etc... all the time around the house.

Ellie LOVES LOVES LOVES books. She will read a book anytime anywhere and begs all day to be read to. It is wonderful. She loves to sing songs (especially the alphabet, and Jesus wants me for a "sun-beep!" count, learn shapes and colors, and of course EAT!!! She wants snacks every 15 minutes and I am not exaggerating. It is a constant battle for me to time when she eats.

They love treats together. Ellie is funny, every time I give her a candy or snack or anything, she says "I get one fo Kylur?" and then i'll give her one and she will run it to him all excited and happy. She is so thoughtful of him

Kyler is getting SO old its depressing... but fun to see him grow up and get so smart. He started pre-school in September and HE. LOVES. IT! He has met so many new friends. He gets to read, write, sing, play, do art, and his favorite: COOK! Kyler can read pretty well and write many words. It is such a crack up when he tries to write words on his own. I love looking at his paper after he says he is writing something and figure out what words he thought he could spell. The first time he did it, he told me he was going to write what he wanted for dinner. When he handed it to me it said "petsa." He wanted pizza. he melts my heart. Kyler also loves to read and be read to. He loves hearing stories, playing legos, playing any toys, playing games on the computer, doing art projects, cooking, writing, watching shows, riding his bike and scooter, playing make-believe, etc... I get so much joy every single day being Kyler and Ellie's mom. I am so lucky. I wish I could record every second of their lives so I could go back and never forget anything.

I love provo canyon when the leaves are changing colors

and I especially love all these things together.
We drove the Alpine loop last month while it was still warm and I loved every minute of it! It was the first time i have been through the canyon on a motorcycle and it was so awesome to be out there in the middle of it all. It is such a different experience than in a car.

All of the pictures we aren't in I took while we were riding. I know pictures without people in them are boring but it captures a little glimpse of what we could see. I felt like I had the best spot because I didn't have to worry about driving and I could just look at everything.

My booty sure did hurt by the end though :)

I have so much to post but I'll just post this because I don't want to post Halloween pictures too far past Halloween. We went to several ward Halloween parties and Kyler had a school program plus on real halloween, we went to maceys to trick-or-treat and then went trick-or-treating around my Moms neighborhood so we had lots of opportunities to dress up. We had a smurfin good Halloween!

Getting ready for Halloween

I think everyone in our house has worn this wig. More than once. One day as we were getting part of our costumes ready for Halloween, I put on this wig and told Ellie "I'm not Mommy." She got SO SAD! She cried and ran away. I feel bad that I think it's funny, but it is. Now it has turned into a game where Kyler and Ellie come up to me all the time with random things on their heads and say "I'm not Kyler" or "I'm not Ellie" and I pretend to be sad or scared. They have used pretty much EVERYTHING in their rooms to do it and it's actually getting old. haha at least they still think it's funny. Besides getting our costumes ready, we have already done a lot of other Halloween traditions. We made halloween cookies, went to Hee-haw farms, painted pumpkins in the bathtub, and made tootsie pop ghosts. I have pictures of these things but I don't want to get them off the camera right now so maybe soon i'll post them separate. I love this month and this time of year!

Today while Ellie was taking a nap, I got out my Book Of Mormon and started to read. Then Kyler (who was sitting next to me in bed playing) got up and got the bible out of the same place, sat down next to me and started "reading" it. When he saw me looking at him he smiled and said "I'm reading chapter 5." Then just looked down and kept reading like he was 20 years old! haha

Then I fell asleep for a few minutes (he was supposed to be sleeping too) and when I woke up Kyler told me he got the laundry out for me and folded all the towels. This is what I saw when I got out of bed...

We did Kyler and Ellies Birthday party together again this year. They chose a "Yo Gabba Gabba!" theme. Ellie doesn't watch shows like Kyler. She just isn't interested. But she does get excited about Yo Gabba Gabba! We had a backyard party at the Prinas. Pizza, slip n slide, goodie bags, cake, and presents were all part of the festivities...

Memorial Day Weekend at Edgewood

I can't believe I haven't updated in so long. It's been a very busy time for us.

At the beginning of the month, we got to go on a wonderful little trip up to Logan with the Prina family. Kristins in-laws were very generous (again) and let us stay at their amazing property. I have a post of us here last year with more pictures of the actual property. This place is insane there is so much cool stuff to do. It was so nice to just hang out with family and relax.

Monday was my 26th Birthday and I was SPOILD!!! I had an entire day of fun/pampering. I have the best family and friends:)

We have had a week FULL of fun! Johns sisters were in town and we stuffed as much fun stuff in as we could with our kids. We did at least one activity a day.

Pioneer Trek

It seems to be my new blogging habit to post events a week after they happen. I guess its fine as long as they are recorded sometime.

Last week, John and I went as "Ma" and "Pa" on our stake pioneer trek. We had amazing experiences. There were 10 kids in our group and here are some pictures. I wish I took more.

"some must push and some must pull" We had the best group of kids. Seriously.

Being in the same places the pioneers were, hearing their stories, doing the things they did, made us more grateful for what we have. And more grateful for what the pioneers went through. We felt the spirit a LOT. Testimonies were strengthened. Friendships were made. Lives were changed.

And that is exactly why we went.

I know all moms think their kids are great and Im sure they are. But my Kyler is SUPER special. He is different in so many (good) ways.
We have a relationship that is like no other relationship. I wont try to describe it because I wont be able to but it is special.
I just wanted to record some of the things I can think of right now that I think make him SO special...
1- He has a very special spirit. I think all kids do but he has this natural desire to learn about the gospel and loves the things he learns. He will ask us questions about the scriptures and when we tell him, he really thinks about the answer.
2-He says the best prayers. Especially when we are home alone with no one to be embarrassed in front of. He starts almost every sentence "we're thankful." So even things he's asking for start that way. like "We're thankful you can bless the missionaries" when I think he really means "please bless the missionaries" :)
3-He is very, very smart. He loves to learn and is good at it. I bought him some activity/learning books at the Alphabet station and he begs me to learn with him. It is a Kindergarden book and he can do everything in it. And he LOVES to read books.
4-He is a really good helper around the house. He can fold laundry (really, like good enough I dont have to re-do it). He empties the silverware almost every load of dishes I do. He vacuums with our dustbuster. He helps me cook. The one thing he doesnt like to do is clean up his own toys! haha
5-He is funny. I think he gets it from his dad. They are always doing funny things together.
6-He is sweet. (most of the time) He is always hugging and kissing and saying I love you to us. His new thing is saying "I love you as big as..." or "as much as..."
7-He is a good artist and a good singer. He draws the cutest pictures. I always want to save all of them. He likes musical instruments and can carry a tune pretty well. He makes up a lot of songs in his free time too
8-He is a healthy eater. He has always been good at eating veggies and actually loving most of them. He LOVES fruit.
9-He is very forgiving and a very good example to us.
10-And he is extremely cute of course!:)

I am SO grateful for cousins! I love how my kids have cousins who are their BEST BEST friends. It is such an amazing thing to grow up with cousins close to your age, who you cant get enough of and cant wait until the next time you get to see each other. I had cousins like this growing up and I couldnt be more thankful for the experiences and memories we have together. Heres to all the memories my kids have with their cousins so far...and many more to come, I cant wait!

We had a great Easter Sunday. Church was inspiring, then we had some time to relax. For dinner, everyone went to Summers. We had good food and fondue for dessert. Not much to post-I thought I had more pictures but turns out we only took pictures of fondue:)

I know people have different traditions for Easter. We have the Easter Bunny come on Saturday while we take the kids to the park (or on a drive if the weather is retarded) then Sunday we can focus on the Savior and have a nice family dinner. I took a million pictures so there are a lot. And they are all from my phone so they arent the best quality.

This was Ellies first Easter (minus last year when she was just lounging in the background) She learned a few weeks before Easter that those colorful plastic eggs mean CANDY! We had Easter hunts all month at our house and at both grandmas and at the ward party. She was pro by the time it was for real. Shey, Matt and Rob joined us at our quarters last week for a Nacho Lebre party. We have been waiting 2 years for the twins to get off their mission to watch it all together! It was all we ever dreamed of! haha. We had Nachos before and ice cream at half time. And we laughed a lot. I dont know how they even thought of all the funny lines in that movie.

Wherever I saw this little saying, It is EXACTLY how ive been feeling lately.

I hardly ever post about myself. All the note-worthy things in my life are usually about the other people in my life. But right now there is so much going on in MY own world and I never talk about it here. So heres one post all about me and who I am and whats going on in my life RIGHT NOW. 20011. at 25 years old.

First of all, anyone whom I dont associate with on a regular basis, should know my whole life is committed to my family and my religion. pretty much 99.5% of things I do are in the interest of my family or my God. If you do associate with me frequently, hopefully you think that of me. I know I am certainly not perfect but my intentions are always good.

Right now I have some huge things on my plate that are keeping me VERY busy and VERY happy:

*Obviously my role as a mother and wife is a huge (and my #1) responsibility. I love the things required of me because I choose this role. cleaning, cooking, teaching, making, playing, loving and everything in between. How could I not be the happiest women in the world doing these things for John, Ellie and Kyler?! Nothing makes me happier than the time I spend with my family in our home (or anywhere)

*Church callings. I try to do the best I can and pull my weight as much as possible in the church. (I hope anyone reading this knows Im sincerely not trying to make myself look good or pretend Im something I am not. This is how I really feel. And that is the extent of it. I hesitate even writing these things for fear someone might think I think I am better than anyone else or even think I think im great. I dont. I have A LOT to work on.) that was long and ridiculous and did not make sense.

I love to go visiting teaching. I love the time I get to spend with other women chatting and learning.

I am in the ward choir and LOVE it. I do not even have a great voice but I love to sing hymns and feel its a form of worship.

I have served as the Young Women secretary for the past year and a few weeks ago I was released and called as the Young Women President. Whoa. Didnt see that coming. All I have to say is i am EXTREMELY thankful my heart is in the right place and I know I can do anything with the Lord. I love the Young Women and want more than anything for them to gain their own faith and testimonies. Testimonies so strong that NOTHING will be able to shake them. Testimonies so strong that they will want to serve Heavenly Father their whole lives with their whole selfs.

*I have 2 "jobs" they are jobs because I make money but they dont really feel like jobs. I work for my sister-in-law 3 times a week. 18 hours. Cleaning, playing with her kids and my kids, cooking, pretty much anything she needs me to do. I hope she knows when im working there, even though im getting paid, I do it with love:) and I enjoy it because I feel like i am serving her and accomplishing more. Plus I learn a lot.

My other job is cooking for someone who is currently fighting cancer. I have strict, crazy guidelines and recipes to follow but i have really been enjoying it. The food is gluten free, sugar free, animal product free, dairy free, cancer diet approved. I cook a few dishes every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Again, I feel like I am serving and I am learning SOOO much.

Now a few smaller things ive been thinking about...

I have scoliosis and have been trying to fix it at a chiropractor. We will see if I can correct it so I wont get headaches and back aches all the time.

I have a new shop at etsy that ive posted and been trying to sell a few handmade items.

We want a house so bad and have been trying to make plans to be able to move by 2012.

We (or maybe just I) want a new baby but we are holding off a little longer. Ellie is giving us a run for our money lately so maybe its best to wait longer:)

So now you can see why I feel like "busy hands, happy heart" Is my life slogan. I should write a theme song too!

But really, I AM SO HAPPY! Sometimes im so overwhelmed and stressed with all my responsibilities and all that I want to accomplish but when I remember that Heavenly Father is on my side and I trust him completely, I have nothing to fear. Im focusing on doing the best I can every day and I know He will "direct my path"

I feel like I havent been recording any milestones my kids are passing on this blog so here are some things I want to record about them. Some with pictures, some without. Random details that I can remember right now. EVERY single thing they do is worth recording in my eyes but ill spare you. This is going to be messy but I don't have time to make it perfect.

My kids LOVE books. Ellie is constantly bringing me books and having me read to her. Whenever Kyler hears me start reading any book, he drops whatever he is doing and runs in to listen. When Ellie brings me a book I sit down on the floor usually and put her on my lap and she gets SOOO gitty!:) I love it so much. She smiles so big and kicks her legs just because Im going to read her a book. Also, I have been finding Ellie all the time, just flipping through the pages of a book by herself.

I cant stand it.

I wanted a picture of Ellie in her big girl coat because she looks so grown up lately. My phone gave me this. Kind of cute but kind of scary. Anyway, she wears a lot of cute clothes because I got a lot of cute hand-me-downs and since I got the hand-me-downs, I can get other really cute things I see. Plus I am a really good bargain shopper if I do say so myself.

She loves to put olives on her fingers. And it is adorable.

Kyler is having a blast playing with his cousins Tucker and Eatson 3 times a week. While I help Lisa (my sister in law) around the house, these boys do all sorts of fun (and naughty:)) things together. They love to dress up in costumes

She loves treats. More like obsessed with them. If she hears wrappers, she comes running chanting "nany, nany, nany!" Anything that is colorful is "nany." If you give her a treat from a certain spot, she will yell "nany" every time you pass that spot for days. She also says "totee" for cookie and "nack" for snack and she will get right up in your face to tell you she wants some.

Her whole life is about food. At least I know how to make her happy when nothing else will work:)

P.S. those Costco ice cream bars are too good. And the fact that they are only $1.50 makes it worse because I always want to get one. So I do.

I used to love to look at Ellie from this view.(left) She finally graduated to a big girl car seat and now I love to look at her from this view. She was in that infant seat almost 6 months longer than Kyler was. (he transferred at 11 months and she just did a week or 2 ago) She still fit in it but was just getting too old for it.

Kyler is so good to play by himself and I find him in his own little world often. He is so creative and has the biggest imagination. John and I always laugh about how he is constantly singing, humming, clicking, talking, making all kinds of noises while he plays. He can take anything (rag, sock, food, he has seriously even done it with garbage) and turn it into entertainment for himself.

Ellie loves to bite our fruit and vegetables and cheese. One time I had a bag of potatoes and she bit into every one. nice. Another time we weren't expecting it and we got out a new block of cheese and we found a perfect round set of teeth marks on it! It was SO cute!

ELLIE:

* Has a vocabulary of 50+ words. Maybe half of them only I can understand.

*Can make approximately 8 animal sounds.

*Can tell you almost every part of a human head. (we are working on the rest of the body)

*Goes to bed at 8:30pm and wakes at 7:30am

*Is a good/funny dancer

*Is sometimes clingy, which I dont love

*Beats up Kyler

*Loves food

*Loves daddy

*loves to go "night-night"

*Loves baths

Christmas was so good this year. I love the feeling of being SOOO excited for everyone to open the presents you bought them. Its like Christmas when I was little but opposite. I love my family and my in-laws so much. We had a lot of fun with everyone. So many new memories I will always cherish!:) We spent new years eve with my family and Christmas day/night with Johns family. Oh, and we ate lots of good food.

Vegas in November

My sisters (minus Summer:(), Mom and I went to Vegas in November but I have had too many other things to do this past month, our blog has suffered.

We had so much fun together on our trip. Our family always went to vegas for family vacations. I hadnt been there in almost 7 or 8 years. We had a list of things we wanted to do while we were there and guess what? We probably did like 2. It was sad. It seemed like a joke, every place we wanted to go had "just closed yesterday" or "just changed their hours yesterday" or just wasnt the same. It was a lot scarier than I remember too. We found ourselves walking to our hotel past midnight every night and it was scary. I dont think I want to go back there.

haha after I say all that, it really was sooooo fun just because we were all together. We laughed A LOT and ate A LOT and did get to see some beautiful stuff. We spent like a day in the ABC store buying Hawaiian stuff. We walked A LOT. We even got to go to the pool for an hour and lay out just like old times. The car ride there and back wasnt even long because we were having so much fun. Most of these pictures are self explanatory. Just us around vegas

So ill have to post a few things in one

1-Kyler got staples last month a few days before halloween. Tucker (his cousin) and

kyler went out to "golf" and a few minutes later he came in crying with blood all over him.

Tucker had accidentally hit him with a golf club. We went to the instacare and the Dr. said it would probably take 4 staples then he did 9! :( Kyler was a good sport and very brave.

My kids are in love with SUGAR! Of course they are. The other day we were helping my parents move and I needed the kids to be good so I gave them lolipops. It was Ellies first one. She made a HUGE mess! She was going crazy with it and getting it all over her face, hands, clothes, and seat for over about an hour. I thought it was gone but when I went to get her out of her seat, I found it stuck to her shirt with over half of it left! It was only a tiny dum dum! haha. I will for sure give her another one when i need her to be good since she only consumed a small amount of sugar. I wish it didnt make such a big mess or I could give it to her at church

I love these pictures of him. I COULD NOT get enough of him this day! We went to Old Navy and he picked out this hat and begged me for it and tried it on and talked to himself in the mirror with it on. Then he wanted to wear it all day and night. He kept saying "Im Ming-ming the duckling" (from Wonder Pets) He is too beautiful for words.

The week of halloween was seriously one of the busiest weeks Ive had in a while. Getting our costumes ready, several parties, trick or treating, Dereks homecoming, Kyler got his head split open and got 9 staples, on top of all our usual stuff. It was all very fun though (not the staples)

We were Wizard of Oz characters this year. John DID NOT dress up!!!! Very sad.

Are you flippin kidding me?! She is so precious!

I really love the movie Wizard of Oz. It makes me laugh so hard. I loved how our costumes turned out. How Ellie was the Tin man because she has SO MUCH heart and love. How Kyler was the Scarecrow because hes got big brains.:) He really is THE smartest little kid! He amazes me. (if you have seen wizard of oz, you'll know what im talking about) (hopefully)

Kyler was the best scarecrow and LOVED being it:) We won "Best group costume" at our parents ward party and Kyler won "best kids costume" at our ward party.

I look hideous. I had to wear those white tights because the dress was too short. I only loved my shoes. I made them for $11! If only we had a brave lion with us:(

John and I went to a friends Birthday party on Friday the 29th. Then we invited ourselves to Sheyenes singles stake Halloween party and danced ourselves sweaty. This creepy guy was in the foyer.

Thanks to our favorite friend Martha, we got to go to the Nuskin Styx concert a few weekends ago!!! And thanks to grandma and grandpa Prina who let the kids sleepover! They had so much fun too!

We got 1/2 off sushi before the concert (i told you i love city deals) it was really good.

then we got treats at Harmons next door. I always have to get treats. Even if we are planning on getting dessert later.

Then Martha got us in the doors before everyone else who was waiting in a HUGE line:) and gave us sweet concert necklaces and we snuck up in the V.I.P section with her where we could pretty much touch the stage.

John, Will and my Dad were there but didnt make the cuts for my pictures...oops.

Then Sheyene lost her iphone and coat and when we finally found it it was 11:50. But that didnt stop us from rushing over to Chillies to get chips and dessert. We laughed our eyes out and created memories and thats why it was one of the best nights of my life. I will never forget how much fun I had with my Family. The whole night we were laughing and bonding. haha sounds weird but really.

Plus, since the kids were sleeping at grandmas, when we got home at 1:30, the guys watched the BYU game they recorded and we went to Wal-mart. We didnt go to bed until 4. I havent done that for years but it was worth the fun:)

We spent part of the afternoon in Salt Lake fixing my brand new phone yesterday. We saw it was going to be a nice day and packed extra clothes so the kids could play in the water.

Its crazy how different a brother and a sister can be. I love it. Ellie was the bravest little thing and got soaked. Kyler was so timid and took almost the whole time to dare to play around and get wet.

Huge post of our September

I never have time to post anymore. I started working for my sister-in-law and I love it but between all the things to get done at her house and my own house plus Young Women and all the little things in between, it doesnt leave me very much time to get things like blogging done.
Since its officially October (yay!) I better post about our fun September before I get too far behind...

Last week I was so lucky to get to go to Womens Conference with my Mom and 2 of my sisters up at the conference center! We ate at "The Old Spaghetti Factory" in trolly square before. It was so fun. We have so many memories of that place from when we were little.

It was the VERY FIRST TIME I saw the Prophet in real life and I love him even more now. He is a celebrity to me.

Next up, John and I took a 4 day trip all the way to Salt Lake City!!! haha We relaxed, ate out every meal, shopped, went to 2 new Temples and visited Salt Lake Temple. We had a good time but we were excited to come home and see the kids.

We went to the Draper temple and did sealings. We met (almost) relatives and sealed a lot of Italian families with them.

I dont understand how people take such bad pictures. She probably didnt realize we didnt want all those steps in our picture instead of the top of the temple and Angle Moroni. And I guess its our fault we didnt tell her we wanted it straight or at least close to straight.

We went to the Bountiful Temple one day and I was impressed! It was beautiful

Salt lake temple. We went to the Joseph Smith movie and the visitors center and walked around reminiscing about when we took pictures there after our sealing. haha Angle Moroni is cut off again

Last but not least, at the very beginning of September we went to Logan for an overnight stay and our niece Grace's baby blessing. It was amazing! The place we stayed was straight out of a movie. It was a huge property with a barn, playground, tennis court, pond, pool and pool house. Not to mention the house itself was a mansion! haha. We are impressed easily maybe?

Super-Duper double Birthday Party!

We had a double birthday party for Kyler and Ellie at our favorite park (Timpanogos) last week. We had such a great time! We played a few games but mostly just enjoyed each other. A lot of family and a few friends joined us. We are so thankful for all our family and friends!

All of Kylers best friends were there. Most of which are also his cousins. Ill tell you the truth, those dang "party blower" things got annoying really fast. (Especially when I would try to say a sentence and one would be going off in my ear or face) at least the kids liked them

I dont love that Ellie is one.

The memories I have from when she was born, waiting for her to come home from the NICU, seeing her for the first time, holding her for the first time, feeding her for the first time,etc. cant be from a year ago! It feels like a few months. She has been everything i dreamed of plus a million. I could have never imagined I would love her so much. Or how much happiness she would bring this little family. She has been so perfect and healthy. I am so grateful for that. If one year feels like a few months, then our life together is only going to seem like a few short years. I better live them to the fullest

She got so many great presents but Grandma Prina gave her a baby doll and I think it won her heart the best. Look at her love that thing. She just kept grabbing it and loving it like that. And patting it and a yelling "ahhhh"

I dont know how, but she knew exactly what to do when she opened her gifts. It was so fun to watch her! Thank you again everyone!

The kids Birthday cakes for this year!
Its become a tradition to stay up very late the night before the birthday party and make cakes. Very elaborate cake(s). This year Kyler picked Bugs Bunny. He has been watching Looney Toons lately.
It blows my mind how John can just ask Kyler what he wants his cake to be. ANYTHING, and he can make it FREE HAND and it always turns out amazing. We made 4 9x13, 1 small round and an 8x8 cake on Thursday night then on Friday night decorated them. I made Ellies cake and these cake pops all by myself. They are nothing compared to Johns but maybe some of his skill is rubbing off on me? Probs not.
We went to bed at 4am. It was worth it though. One of the funnest parts about our new tradition is in the morning when the kids wake up and get to see the cakes all done. it is like Christmas. It was sad, Kyler admitted he liked the cake pops better when he saw everything in the morning. haha. He loves girl stuff. It makes John mad.

All Ellie would look at was the cake pops too and say "ba...ba...ba" over and over (meaning "ball")

oh my oh my oh my. this girl is getting so big! Not in size but in everything else! And I want to cry, it makes me so sad. She has had many milestones lately and She will be 1 on the 15th.

Here are some of her new things:

Saying more words. her list includes; mama, dada, ba (for ball), Jesus, baby, ni-ni(for night-night), loon(for balloon-this is a rare one. She has only done it a few times) da (for dog)
She had 2 teeth as of 10 months and now she has 6! 3 of which are new since september!
She walks! She took her first steps around August It is so dang cute but sad because she is my baby. She will walk for food and lately she has been choosing to walk from thing to thing on her own. She prefers crawling for the most part and gets nervous if she isnt holding on to something.
She LOVES food and will eat it any time. She only nurses 3 times a day now so she gets 2 big girl meals a day plus snacks. Holy moly she is a picky eater! She will not eat canned fruits or veggies so I have to make everything fresh. Some of her favorite foods are; bananas, simen, mac n cheese, cooked broccoli, cooked carrots, fresh pears, cheese, bread, snacks, etc...
She LOVES babies. Real but mostly fake. She snuggles with them and gets so happy when we give her one. And she says bebe, bebe, bebe over and over.
She knows how to throw fits and it is so funny and cute (usually)

She is so scrumptious! In every way. She is so beautiful and cute and perfect and bla bla bla. I cant describe her amazingness. She is too good!:)

Long Update on Kyler (for my sake)

Kyler will be 3 on Monday and I want to record some of him at this age.

He is so smart. He is observant and remembers small details. We will go somewhere one time for only a few minutes and 2 weeks later we will pass by the store and he will say "remember when we...there?" I cant believe it sometimes.

He knows all the sounds of all the letters in the alphabet and is starting to sound out words. He asks me how to spell EVERYTHING and asks me what EVERYTHING says. I love to answer.

He loves Legos and will play with them for hours at a time.

He has a wonderful imagination. He pretends his cousins Ethan and Hunter are here all the time and even makes me give them (pretend) food.

He loves books and stories. His favorite story right now is one I made up about "The Three Little Doggies" where three little dogs go to the grocery store and get their mommy doggie various groceries. Lately he has been saying "tell me a story about the three little doggies who go on a camp out" or "the three little doggies who go to the dentist" etc... He often calls me "mommy doggie" and wants me to answer "what Kyler doggie?" Silly boy.

He loves snacks and food. He is a very good eater and even loves vegetables. He LOVES fruit.

He loves to watch shows and we have to ration them.

He has a sense of humor. Without trying.

He says funny words i.e. Toompbrush=toothbrush, lasterday=yesterday or the other day etc.

He loves to help me and "do work." He helps with the dishes, the laundry, cooking, groceries, cleaning.

He hates cleaning HIS toys though.

He is sweet. He says "I love you" to us all the time and gives hugs and kisses.

I really can't believe what a wonderful boy he is. I have been noticing all his good qualities more since Ellie came along. They are so different (good and bad)

I dont know what I would do without him. He makes my life so much better. I thank Heavenly Father for him EVERY day and night.

Here are some recent pics...

First real trip to the dentist yesterday. He was SO good! Everyone was impressed. He was very quiet and unsure but he did everything they asked:) It was so fun to watch him there. Here she is cleaning his teeth with bubble gum toothpaste.

Oh my hes so cute. The dentist thought he was 5 or 6! ha

Haha x-rays. His little feet sticking out! He had "prefect teeth" (besides one missing) the denist said. He was such a good boy, he got a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss and a TOY!

He loves long baths with toys. He stayed in the bath 3 hours the other day! I am not exaggerating. I had to put in more warm water 1/2 way through because he begged not to get out

We went to a man-made lake a few weeks ago with our friends for FHE and Kyler had a blast. I couldnt get enough of him in this life jacket.

It was a little chilly that day but he was in the water the whole time. He liked jumping on this knee board and let it take him for a ride.

He is always doing funny/cute stuff to make me laugh

He loves his Book Of Mormon and mostly loves to look at the pictures. one day I found him asleep on my bed like this. I almost cried. He is so sweet.

Haha. At auntie Sheybe's church. We went to hear her speak and got to see Po from Kung Fu Panda.

Birthday Week

I had a whole week full of Birthday celebrations. I dont have any pictures but my real Birthday was on Sunday the 15th and it was a great day. The kids slept in, John got me cinnamon rolls for breakfast, I took a nap before church, and John was seriously my slave the whole day! He cleaned, took care of the kids, tickled my back, and everyone was extra nice to me:)

I have an e-mail account specifically for junk mail so I signed up for Birthday/e-mail club at every restaurant I could thing of around here. Between Monday and Friday, we went to denny's, red robin and happy sumo. Going out to eat is one of my favorite things to do.

Another restaurant! Summer took me to THE MELTING POT!!! It was a surprise and it was the best surprise I have had in a while! We were there eating for over 3 hours! It was SOOO fun!

Blessings of the Preisthood

I was REALLY sick Wednesday and Thursday. Like I seriously wondered if I was going to die? It sounds dumb now because I (just) had mastitis and usually you dont die from it. Why am I so susceptible to it?! I never get sick. I have had mastitis 4 times now between Ellie and Kyler. This time was THE WORST! It comes on in like 30 min. and all of a sudden I am immobilized, with a fever and chills, shaking. Every inch of my body and skin hurts and aches. I feel nauseous (even though ive never thrown up from it) And of course my milk ducts feel like I tore a muscle and got stabbed in the same spot. It was 6 pm and John wouldnt be home until 8pm:( Kyler is jumping on me over and over, Ellie is crying non-stop in my ear. and I am crying. This is when I wondered if I would die. And in all that mess that I was I couldnt help but look at my kids and think how much I loved them and how beautiful they were and how lucky I was to have them. Strange.

Finally John gets home and at least the stress is gone now that he can take care of the kids. I feel worse though, physically. I still Had to nurse Ellie and pump to get the duct(s) unclogged. That was excruciating. John left me in a pile on the bed to go feed her rice cereal. I started thinking about Jesus Christ and how he felt how I did in that awful moment. Plus EVERYTHING else in the world. Every other pain. And I was so grateful for Him. Not because He felt the same way as me but because He was WILLING to feel that pain so I could have a chance to make it back into the presence of my Heavenly Father. Our Heavenly Father.

Then it lead me to think of asking John for a blessing. By then I was laying on the floor in the hallway and John had just finished putting the kids to bed. He knelt down at my head and as soon as he said "Sierra Desiree Prina" I was overwhelmed with love and gratitude. Unconditional love for John, my Savior and Heavenly Father. Gratitude for the Priesthood, Johns worthiness, my faith. Right then I knew Heavenly Father loved me and cared about me. And randomly I was so overwhelmed and proud to hear John say my name. Specifically PRINA. I felt so honored to be his wife in that moment.

Well, he said and blessed me with many wonderful things and I knew everything would be ok. The next day we got antibiotics and had an ultrasound to make sure the infection hadnt gotten bad enough to take other measures. I still felt weak and sore and yucky. By Friday morning I felt great (except i was still a little sore from the infection)

John took such good care of me and the kids. He dropped everything and served me constantly for over 24 hours. It felt good, though its not worth being sick.

I think Heavenly Father let me get sick so I could feel the way I did. Emotionally. looking back, the feelings I had during that time reflect what I feel is MOST important in my life. My kids, John, my Savior, Heavenly Father, the blessings of the Priesthood, my faith/testimony.

He weakened me physically so He could strengthen me spiritually.

He always amazes me with his intricate plan for my life. He always knows whats best. I trust him completely and will humbly do whatever he requires of me. The end.

I hate blogging unless my kids are napping or playing happily. Lately there hasnt been much of that around here. Ellie has been working several teeth out of those little gums and its been rough. She is always fussy. I have been stressed and always feel busy. Finally, Ellie and Kyler are playing in their room. No one is crying...Yet. My house needs to be deep cleaned so bad. But Im blogging instead. Dumb. Here are random pictures of things we have taken pictures of the past couple of weeks...

Kyler loves to run through the sprinklers on the side of our apartment. He has always hated water on his head so we had to gradually get him to run all the way in. Now he loves it and always asks to do it. Too bad they are only on at night.

Girls Camp

I have dreamed of going to girls camp as a leader since my last year as a young women. I always had the best leaders and I always LOVED camp. Well, when I got called into the young women in February, thats the first thing I thought of - 'I get to go to girls camp!'

After I thought about the details a little more, I thought I wouldn't be able to go because I am still nursing Ellie. I was so sad. Well, with the help of my Mom (who always does whatever she can to make me happy and let me have good experiences) We figured out a plan so I could go! It was worth all the work I had to do before, after and while I was there.

I made friendships that are so special to me. I learned how to pray harder, read better, love more, serve more and just be more like Christ in general. The theme was "Under Construction To Be Like Him"

Thank you so much Mom and Dad for taking good care of my kids so I could have this wonderful experience!

We went on a THREE HOUR hike the third day! It was beautiful. I wish Shalom was open to the public. I would go camping there and hike every trail. It was crazy to see everything again and have flashbacks of when I was up here as a young women. So many good memories.

I saw a butterfly on a long piece of grass and (half jokingly) put my finger on it to pick it up. well, It climbed right on and stayed there a long time! It was so cute!

It even let me pass it on to Lorelei.

We made it the furthest out of the whole group. You had to stand opposite each other on wires and put your hands together. Then walk down to the end as the wires got further and further apart. By the end we were almost horizontal!

We had GIANT marshmallows. It was ridiculous. and some of the girls got a little too hyper from all the sugar!

Anniversary Celebrations

The weekend before our anniversary, John and I got to go on a date. We dropped the kids off with my Mom and went to 7-peaks ALONE! It was fun to go on all the rides we never get to go on with the Kyler and Ellie there. We came home and got ready then went to Rib City Grill for dinner. It was good but we were expecting it to be better. We still like Texas Road House better. We were going to go to see"Karate Kid" but we were running late and missed the showing. So we decided to get treats and watch it at home. We went to a store and got a few treats because we were planning on going to get ice cream later but we decided to save our ice cream gift certificates from City Deals (have you ever been to that website? Discounted restaurants, hotels etc. You should go. citydeals.com) and do one of my favorite things: get a whole bunch of candy from the bins at Winco! I love that place! And I hadnt had sweets for 2 months. John had to stop me and almost literally drag me to the front because I wanted to get some of everything. We watched the movie and made ourselves sick with sugar. The next morning we got up early to go to the Temple (my Mom still had the kids) When we go there, they wouldnt let us in because our recommends had expired:( A few days after we went last. I didnt even realize. It was sad. Then we picked up our kids and the date ended.

On Monday, our real anniversary, John had work off and we hung out as a family all day. It was heavenly. We were lazy the first part of the day then in the afternoon, we went up to Deer Creek to swim. We didnt want to pay $10 for a "day use" spot so we found our own place and it was perfect. We swam, snacked, relaxed, skipped rocks and enjoyed just being together. Then we went to the BYU Creamery for dinner! Yum!

John and I have been married 1,460 days! ( 4 years)
It seems like we didnt know anything about life then. But we have been teaching each other and learning together.

(we are babies)
This year I have reflected on how far we (mostly me) have come.

I used to be selfish. Untrusting. Impatient. Moody. Bratty. And everything in between. Pretty much a looser. Its a miracle John wanted to marry me.

Heavenly Father knew who could whip me into shape. My smootchy-poo, John. haha

He has taught me so much and I cant wait to grow better and better with him in the years to come.

It rained. All over our whole wedding. But do you know what? We hardly noticed. People said it was good luck and I think they were right.

At least we thought we were. Now we really know what love means;)

Independence weekend

We went camping Friday to Saturday up Provo Canyon. We just went in the wilderness to a place John and his friends found years ago. We drove up squaw peak road and then its a 10 min. walk to the site. John thought it would be a good idea to bring our stroller all the way up so he pushed it up hill on a trail thats only a foot wide to our spot. haha. I was making fun of him but it really was good to have it there so Ellie had a place to sit. We set up camp, went on a hike, peed on trees, ate hot dogs, ate dirt, saw a snake 2 times!, made a chair, looked at the stars, watched a movie on our computer, explored, spent much needed time as a family and a bunch of other stuff

Kyler had SOOOO much fun. That was the best part for me. He kept saying "this is the best campout I have ever been on!"

The kids loved to play in the tent for some reason. Even more than outside which is never the case at home. They were so cute in there!!

Well our campout looks and sounds fun but we dont have pictures of the middle of the night when Ellie kept waking up. She was sleeping in between us and she kept waking up and getting up and pulling our hair and smacking our faces and scratching us and making annoying (cute) noises. As much as I wanted to sleep, it was so cute when I would wake up and see Ellie staring at me with the most confused look like"why are you in my bed right now?" It was a nightmare of a night and we were SO tired after but the rest of the trip made it worth it.

The rest of our weekend was full of fire works, family, fun, and food. All F's for the FOURTH of July. ewww

I wish we could say we have been on some fun vacation. But we haven't. We have just been hanging out keeping busy.

We LOVE to be outside! Especially the kids. So we do a lot of random stuff out there.

A few weeks ago, we took him to play at McDonalds for FHE and he fell of the bench and split his lip open is a few places. (this picture was taken a few days later) We took him to an Instacare and they said to just let it heal. He now has a bubble on the inside of his lip.
